Friday Real Estate Stalking
I had a little fun with last week's Real Estate Stalking and it looks like many of you also had fun playing along. This week's Real Estate Stalking is a little different because...
...this pink darling has an exterior that is both breath talking and charming...
...and an interior that matches the exterior perfectly. Many of the original architectural details of the beautiful Victorian doll house have been lovingly preserved.
The moldings, the high ceilings, the window details, the beautiful hardwood floors, they are all perfection. Unfortunately, the home isn't all sunshine and rainbows. It does have a boring builders kitchen that is definitely not original to the home but all is forgiven thanks to the fireplaces in the dining room, the den, and the master bedroom.

ReplyDeleteI love your Real Estate Stalking posts--It takes me back to my days in the 'clair. I love this Victoria--I grew up in one that is similar. I can tell you that one thing has definitely changed from the original, though--all the molding and woodwork has been (gasp) painted. Our home had all of the original woodwork, including chestnut beams in the entrance hall. Personally, I am not a big "don't paint the wood" person, but a lot of people would fall out of their chairs if they saw all of that wood painted. Anyhoo, thanks for the great ode to good old Montclair!

ReplyDeleteIn this case I don't mind the painted moldings. The home is so bright and airy I think the white moldings only add to it. There are a lot old Tudor style homes in Montclair that still have their original moldings/beams unpainted. It's a look I love though it often feels quite heavy. I'm not sure I could actually live in home with all of that wood :)
Great house. Love the painted molding it makes the inside equal the lightness of the outside. Charming house! Yeah well, those builder's kitchens (with their undersized ovens)are often the first thing to get ripped out.
