Favorite Post of the Week - February 5, 2010

I received a vintage globe as a gift this Christmas and I found this post supremely helpful when attempting to date it. To be clear, I did not try to take my globe out for dinner and a movie I was just trying to figure out how old it is.

This graphic is from the blog hindsvik where they also provide a pretty extensive timeline of what the names of the countries existed in a specific year.     Oh my gosh I giggled out loud at your "dating your globe" joke. Too funny.

    I have a growing globe collection so this could come in very handy!
