I have a problem for which I do not think a support groups exists. I am a serial craft/home project starter. What's the problem with that you ask? I am also a serial craft/home project unfinisher (yes I just made up a word). While sitting at my desk the other morning daydreaming about how I could probably just make a new cover for my guest futon instead of buying one I had what Oprah devotees would call a light bulb moment. I quickly put on the breaks before ordering those 10 yards of white canvas and reminded myself that I have half finished curtains hanging in the living room, art that needs to be framed and hung, a hat I never finished knitting, the list goes on.
I decided the best way to push myself to finish all of these projects is to make myself accountable to you all. I'll post my list of projects here and provide regular updates with projects that I can hopefully cross off the list. A little nagging from you won't hurt either. Fell free to leave comments every so often that sound something like, "Hey Michelle it's been awhile since we've seen a project update. Have you finished those dang curtains yet?". So here goes the list:
- Update inspiration board
- Finish knitting that darn hat before Spring comes
- Make cushion for bench at the foot of the bed
I know I'm probably leaving a few out so I'll update this list if I think of more. And don't forget to periodically nag me to get these projects done!

Ah ah ! I'm exactly the same !
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad I'm not the only one! I still haven't completed the twins photo albums from their first year (and now their second year!). I could sling a hundred more examples at you. I have a ton of things to frame and hang tool. And last week I bought paint and promised myself I'd repaint the kitchen table before February 20th. We'll see if I actually get it done.
ReplyDeleteNag nag nag!!!
Sarah, hopefully we can get on each other's back to get sh*t done!
ReplyDeleteGood luck!! Can I add my own things to this list...like the blanket I started crocheting for my sister 2 years ago??!! Where does the time go?
ReplyDeleteI feel exactly the same way. Want to try so many things... at the same time. Wish the day had 48hrs.
ReplyDeleteI'm with you Anabel, I think we would all be happier with a few extra hours in the day.
ReplyDeleteI would be too afraid to make a list of my unfinished projects. I just think it's one of the drawbacks of being creative. Participating in the various linking parties has motivated me to finish some of my projects. It gives me a deadline to work toward.
ReplyDeleteI am the same way!! I always have a looong list of half-started crafting projects looming over me!
